Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer who thrives as a seller-doer, balancing business development with technical workload. You bring client relationships, review and seal geotechnical and materials data, and lead testing coordination with our lab team.

You will develop a client book among contractors, owners, and design firms, scope and price proposals, and negotiate terms to convert opportunities into signed work.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients — general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms — for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
