Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to act as a seller-doer. You will develop client relationships, price and write proposals, and seal geotechnical letters as the engineer of record.

The role combines business development with technical project work and requires travel to client sites. You will manage testing programs with the in-house lab and field staff, coordinate with technicians, and represent the company at industry events.

Qualifications

Active PE license in posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
