Job summary

Wauconda Area Public Library is seeking a friendly, empathetic individual for public-facing duties. You will deliver professional customer service at the Check Out Desk and Call Center, handle materials with care, and resolve patron questions and issues with sound judgment.

Proficient with technology and able to work in a fast-paced team. Regular duties include supporting various library projects and ensuring adherence to library policies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ service related work; library experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and math skills for transactions.
• Able to read small font and work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service in person, on the phone, and online.
• Respond to patron questions at Check Out Desk and Call Center.
• Handle incoming/outgoing materials with attention to detail.
• Resolve patron misunderstandings or complaints.
• Assist with projects as needed.
• Demonstrate good judgment and comfort with technology.
• Work without direct supervision in a team setting.
