Job summary

The Itasca Community Library is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Patron Services Associate to join the Patron Services Department. You will primarily serve at the Check Out Desk, warmly welcome patrons, issue library cards, check out/in materials, shelve items, resolve account issues, and assist as a Passport Acceptance agent.

Ideal candidates have paid customer service experience. Benefits include vacation and sick accrual, parental leave, and EAP.

Qualifications

• Paid customer service experience is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve at the Check Out Desk and provide superior customer service.
• Issue library cards and check out/in materials.
• Sort and shelve materials and resolve patron account issues.
• Issue license plate stickers and assist as Passport Acceptance agent.

The Itasca Community Library is looking for a friendly, confident, detail-oriented, and flexible candidate to join our Patron Services Department. The Patron Services Associate provides superior customer service to our close-knit and traditional community by primarily serving at the Check Out Desk. This staff member will warmly welcome patrons, issue library cards, check out/in materials, sort and shelve materials, resolve patron account issues, issue license plate stickers, and serve as a Passport Acceptance agent. We welcome applicants new to working in libraries, but the ideal candidate will have paid customer service experience.

Benefits include:

• Annual Vacation Accrual: 2 weeks total, and available for immediate use after Introductory Period.
• Annual Sick Accrual: 12 days per year.
• 12 weeks paid parental leave.

Hours:

12:30pm-9pm Thursdays
8:30am-5pm Fridays
One weekend shift per month
8:30am-5pm Saturdays and 1pm-5pm Sundays
(ICL is closed on Sundays Memorial Day-Labor Day)
