Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Patient Service Representative in Berkeley Heights, NJ to support the medical office team with registration, patient flow and a positive customer service experience. Greet visitors, answer calls, update demographics and insurance in the EHR, process payments, and coordinate referrals, pre-authorizations and portal enrollment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, prior PSR experience preferred, and good English communication; familiarity with EHR and practice

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Experience with EHR and practice management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner.
• Maintain efficient patient flow during registration and scheduling.
• Promptly answer the telephone and direct calls appropriately.
• Update patient demographics, insurance, and HIPAA forms in the EHR.
• Process payments, reconcile daily transactions, and provide receipts.
• Schedule exams, coordinates referrals, pre-authorizations, and portal enrollment.
