Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative to greet visitors, register patients, and maintain smooth patient flow across our networks. You will handle calls, verify insurance, process payments, and support scheduling and pre-authorization workflows.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, organization, and proficient use of EHR/Practice Management systems. On-site positions across satellite offices may be required, with training and strong team support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use required.
• Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately.
• Maintains efficient patient flow through registration and provides excellent customer service.
• Answers the telephone, takes messages, and directs calls appropriately.
• Informs patients of delays and assists with comfort.
• Posts self-pay charges, collects payments, and provides receipts.
• Reconciles daily payments and deposits.
• Scans insurance cards, performs verifications, and updates patient accounts.
• Schedules appointments and follow-ups per guidelines and confirms future appointments.
• Performs clerical duties (faxing, copying, scanning, filing, mailings).
• Assists with downtime procedures and covers other locations as needed.
