Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Patient Services Representative to act as the first point of contact for patients and the community. Responsibilities include processing patient registrations, verifying demographics, obtaining insurance cards, scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, and explaining financial options.

The role may require coverage at other physician practice locations as needed. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Provides patient-focused service at front desk and in the exam rooms.
• Requires strong communication and customer service skills with patients and families.
• Handles scheduling, registration, insurance verification and data entry accurately.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary contact between patients and physician practices.
• Greet patients and community; provide respectful service.
• Answer calls, route them, schedule patients, and enter scheduling data.
• Process patient check-in/out and registration paperwork.
• Verify demographics and insurance information; correct errors as needed.
• Assist with referrals, authorizations and pre-certifications as applicable.
