Job summary

Neighborcare Health welcomes patients at its Columbia City clinic in Seattle. The Patient Services Representative greets patients, checks them in for appointments, and guides them through checkout.

You will collect updated information for the EHR, manage front-desk duties, and support care coordination as part of a diverse clinic team dedicated to high-quality care. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience; healthcare experience is

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Preferred: one year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet patients and their families as they arrive in the clinic.
• Answers telephones, confirms appointments, and transfer calls to appropriate staff member, as needed.
• Check in patients, including providing appropriate forms and collecting updated patient information to enter into the EHR.
• Assists with maintaining provider templates and appointment schedules, as needed.
• Maintains patient waiting areas, office files, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized and neat.
• Prepares charts and accounts on a daily basis as applicable.
• Checks insurance eligibility and scan Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance cards.
• Collects co-pays and fees as needed, including closeout of drawer at the end of the day.
• Provides registration form and instructions to new patients and those who haven't been seen in last year, assisting if necessary.
• Schedules walk-in patients for same day appointments.
• Connects patients to insurance eligibility services, as needed.
• Explains Neighborcare's sliding scale policy to self-pay patients, verify income information, entering it appropriately into electronic health records.
