Job summary

Neighborcare Health in Seattle, WA is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to greet and check-in patients at the time of their appointment and to schedule and manage patient flow through the clinic.

The PSR serves as the first contact for patients, provides information, and supports care coordination and population health initiatives. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of customer service experience; healthcare experience is preferred.

• 1 year of customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet patients and their families as they arrive in the clinic.
• Answer telephones, confirm appointments, and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
• Check in patients, collect updated contact and insurance information for the EHR.
• Assist with maintaining provider templates and appointment schedules.
• Maintain waiting areas, files, and front-desk organization.
• Prepare charts and accounts daily as applicable.
• Verify insurance eligibility and scan Medicaid/Medicare and private insurance cards.
• Collect co-pays and finalize end-of-day cash drawer.
• Provide registration forms to new patients and those not seen in over a year.
• Schedule walk-in patients for same-day appointments.
• Explain Neighborcare's sliding scale policy to self-pay patients and input income data in the EHR.
• Other duties as assigned.
