Job summary

Neighborcare Health seeks a Patient Services Representative- Columbia City (0.8 FTE) to greet and check-in patients, schedule appointments, and serve as the first point of contact in the clinic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service experience.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet patients and their families as they arrive in the clinic.
• Answer telephones, confirm appointments, and transfer calls to appropriate staff member as needed.
• Check in patients and collect updated information to enter into the EHR.
• Assist with maintaining provider templates and appointment schedules.
• Maintain waiting areas and front-desk areas in an organized and neat manner.
• Prepare charts and accounts daily.
• Check insurance eligibility and scan Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance cards.
• Collect co-pays and fees, including end-of-day drawer closeout.
• Provide registration forms and instructions to new patients or those not seen in a year.
• Schedule walk-in patients for same-day appointments.
• Explain Neighborcare's sliding scale policy to self-pay patients and enter income info into EHR.
