Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Patient Services Associate to ensure a welcoming patient experience and efficient front‑office workflows. You will greet patients, register and check in, collect copays, schedule follow‑ups, and support the care team while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of medical office experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of insurance verification and billing, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office) preferred.
• Experience in coding, office billing, insurance and government payer regulations, and other third-party billing requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner; register and check in patients; verify demographics and insurance information; collect copayments and outstanding balances; schedule follow-up appointments.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments; confirm, reschedule and communicate changes; handle high-volume calls; route inquiries to the appropriate team.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain pre-authorizations and referrals; communicate coverage issues to patients; assist with time-of-service payments; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare daily clinic schedules and patient chart prep; support office operations including faxing, scanning, and indexing documents.
• Provide compassionate customer service; ensure confidentiality; contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
