Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required. Associate Degree preferred.
• Heartsaver within 30 days of hire.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use. Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients, and families professionally and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through registration and provide excellent customer service.
• Promptly answer calls, direct them appropriately, take messages and display etiquette.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with comfort during waits.
• Post self-pay charges, collect payments, provide receipts, and reconcile daily payments.
• Open/close batches, reconcile collections, prepare deposits and document corrections.
• Scan insurance cards, process verifications in the online system, update patient accounts.
• Schedule appointments accurately and confirm future appointments; review eligibility.
• Schedule and enter orders for diagnostic tests; assist with workflows.
• Work with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff for pre-authorizations.
• Complete referrals and enter into the appropriate systems.
• Communicate issues to Office Supervisor/Manager promptly.
• Perform clerical duties and demonstrate flexibility to cover other locations.
