Carle Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative 1 to coordinate clinic preparation, identify patients, and manage check-in/out, charge posting and cash handling. Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in patient check-in, scheduling or registration preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily clinic preparation, patient identification, check in/out, charge posting and cash management.
• Handles messages and communicates notes to physicians, nurses and others in a timely, accurate manner.
• Models professional behavior and maintains a respectful workplace.
• Manages in-basket requests, referrals, work queue activity and incoming calls.
• Familiar with insurance coverage rules and eligibility/benefits processing.
• Completes mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers.
• Initiates and secures prior authorizations as needed.
• Assists with night, weekend and holiday staffing coverage.
