Akron Children’s in Boardman, OH is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Welcome Center and Quick Care. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role requires flexibility for early mornings, late shifts and weekend on-call rotation.

Onsite position with a focus on patient experience and efficient front desk operations. Responsibilities include greeting patients, completing visit preparation, co-pay collection, scheduling tests, and managing third-party payors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a general office setting preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling system preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and provide prompt, caring responses.
• Handle visit preparation, co-pay collection and patient tracking.
• Schedule patient visits and diagnostic testing per procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collect co-pays.
• Perform clerical tasks: faxing, copying, filing, mailings and calls.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs.
• Support smooth office operations by setting priorities.
• Ensure department and waiting room cleanliness.
• Provide cross-coverage for clerical tasks as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
