Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in clerical or administrative duties in an office setting is preferred.
• Healthcare office experience is preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Basic math skills to process insurance co-payments.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and respond to questions promptly with care.
• Perform visit prep, co-pay collection, patient tracking and other duties.
• Schedule patient visits and diagnostic testing per hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collect co-pays.
• Handle routine clerical tasks: faxing, copying, filing, mailings, calls.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Support smooth office operations by prioritizing workload.
• Ensure department appearance and waiting area cleanliness.
• Cross-cover clerical and administrative duties as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties as required.
