Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to support visit preparation, patient arrival and payment processes, and to create a positive patient experience. You will greet patients and families, handle front desk duties, coordinate scheduling, collect co-pays, and ensure HIPAA compliance while maintaining a welcoming, organized office environment.

This full-time onsite role requires strong communication, organizational skills and comfort with Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a general office setting preferred.
• Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and respond promptly and caring.
• Perform visit prep, co-pay collection, patient tracking, and related duties.
• Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing using hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and co-pay collection.
• Maintain front desk inventory and office supplies.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
• Support office operations with prioritization and cross-coverage as needed.
• Maintain waiting room and work area cleanliness.
