Job summary

Bon Secours in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Services Representative for DePaul Medical Associates to be the first line of quality service for patients. You will register patients, verify demographics, collect insurance information, and schedule appointments.

You will explain financial options, transcribe orders, maintain accurate records, and assist with referrals and MyChart usage. Occasional coverage at other practices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices.
• Provides strong communication and professional customer service to patients and community.
• Schedules appointments and enters information for scheduling into computer systems.
• Verifies demographics and insurance information; processes patient registration.
• Explains financial options to patients and assist with payments and billing.
• Assists with referrals, follow-ups, and MyChart usage as needed.
• Maintains accurate patient records and reconciles daily cash and payments.
