Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Patient Services Representative for its St Francis Primary Care Clinic in Chicago. This full-time role supports scheduling, insurance verification, and coordination of care to ensure smooth clinic operations.

You will routinely schedule appointments, verify eligibility and benefits, and communicate with providers and staff to support timely, quality patient care. Strong English, computer skills, and multi-tasking in a healthcare setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires collaboration and strong customer service with internal and external customers.
• Minimum 6 months scheduling/patient intake experience in healthcare.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of standard insurance companies and verification requirements.
• Well versed in authorization processes for all payers.
• Ability to multi-task and meet timelines.
• Courteous and professional communication.
• Strong clerical and organizational skills for record keeping and scheduling.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• BLS (AHA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates patient appointments with providers to maintain operations.
• Manages flow of information to physicians, nursing staff, therapists, clerical staff, etc.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, including those requiring prior authorizations.
• Obtains and verifies accurate patient demographic and insurance information and updates records as needed.
