Responsibilities

• Coordinates and participates in daily clinic preparation: patient identification, check in/out, charge posting, cash management, appointment scheduling, registration and account setup, and phone handling.
• Communicates via telephone system; takes and delivers messages to physicians, nurses and others.
• Reports patient information accurately and timely to clinicians and staff.
• Distributes messages according to practice communication standards.
• Maintains professional conduct and serves as a role model.
• Manages incoming patient care requests including referrals, in-basket activities, work queue, and calls.
• Proficient with insurance coverage rules and eligibility/benefits considerations.
• Completes mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers.
• Initiates and secures prior authorizations as needed.
