Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join a patient‑focused team in our medical offices. You will greet patients, register their details, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and help keep the practice running smoothly.

You will handle phone calls, schedule appointments, coordinate outside testing, and serve as a liaison between patients and the practice while upholding patient safety and confidentiality and supporting accurate charting in Epic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Preferred: 1–3 years’ physician office experience.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and registers them, verifies insurance, collects co-pays and balances.
• Answers phone and schedules appointments.
• Coordinates scheduling of outside testing and liaises between patient and practice.
• Maintains patient safety and confidentiality; reconciles daily charges.
• Reviews Epic chart prior to appointments and handles medical record requests as per protocol.
