Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Services Representative to perform front-desk registration, scheduling, and insurance verification in a fast-paced medical office.

You will greet patients, collect co-pays, update records, and coordinate external testing while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in daily tasks. A high school diploma is required, with 0–2 years in customer service; higher education is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0–2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1–3 years experience in a physician office favored; working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the office and register them, verify insurance and collect co-pays and balances.
• Update patient demographic and company information in the system.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments; document calls accordingly.
• Coordinate scheduling of outside testing and liaise between patient and practice.
• Ensure patient safety and confidentiality; reconcile daily charges.
