Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Services Representative to greet patients, register them, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and update demographics. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, and coordinate outside testing while maintaining confidentiality.

You will liaise between patients and the practice, providing back-up scheduling and ensuring accurate daily reconciliation. Typical hours are Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0–2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform registration, verify insurance information and collect co-pays and balances.
• Update patient demographics and company information for all patients.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Direct and document patient calls as appropriate.
• Coordinate scheduling of outside testing for patients.
• Serve as liaison between patient and practice; provide back-up scheduling.
• Perform daily reconciliation to ensure charges are entered correctly.
• Pull charts and prepare them for next day appointments; file completed patient charts.
