Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in a customer service position.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years prior physician office experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and handles registration, verifies insurance and collects co-pays.
• Updates patient demographic and company information as needed.
• Answers phone, schedules appointments, and directs calls as appropriate.
• Coordinates scheduling of outside testing for patients.
• Acts as liaison between patient and practice and provides back-up scheduling.
• Ensures patient safety and confidentiality in all daily tasks.
• Completes daily reconciliation to ensure charges are entered correctly.
• Handles medical chart requests and processes charting per protocol.
