Job summary

PathGroup in Columbia, Tennessee is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support daily PSC operations and in-office patient services under supervision. You will perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures, while maintaining patient comfort and data accuracy.

The role requires strong phlebotomy skills, courteous client interaction, and precise data entry into PathConnect.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. (May be required based on state and laboratory guidelines.)
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana).
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures. Explains venipuncture and other specimen collection clearly and courteously.
• Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and/or other PathGroup applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer and verifies data with clients.
