Job summary

The University of Virginia (UVA) Community Health is seeking a Patient Services Coord Lead to schedule and register patients for the outpatient clinic, verify eligibility, and obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.

You will train new staff, oversee daily front office operations, lead throughput, and act as a liaison with revenue cycle to support timely billing and co-pay collections, while maintaining excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of related experience (admitting, business office, scheduling).
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and registers patients for the outpatient clinic.
• Verifies eligibility and ensures pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications as needed.
• Trains new Patient Service Coordinator team members.
• Manages daily front office operations and throughput.
• Represents revenue cycle; liaises with revenue cycle staff.
• Leads staff meetings and ensures front office coverage.
