Akron Children's Hospital Mansfield is seeking a Part-Time Patient Service Representative to provide front-desk support, greet patients and families, handle co-pays and scheduling, and ensure a welcoming, efficient experience.

The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, accurate cash handling, and coordinating with care teams to keep visit flow smooth, appointments accurate and records up to date. This on-site position runs 32 hours every two weeks, with a 0.4 FTE commitment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general office setting preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families, handle questions, and provide prompt, caring responses.
• Perform front-desk duties including visit preparation, co-pay collection, and patient tracking.
• Schedule patient visits or other diagnostic testing according to hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collection of co-pays.
• Maintain office tasks such as faxing, copying, filing, and messaging; support HIPAA compliance.
• Ensure front desk inventory is maintained and communicate needs to staff.
• Support smooth office operations by prioritizing workload and deadlines.
• Maintain department appearance and waiting area cleanliness.
• Participate in clerical cross coverage as needed.
• Other duties as required.
