Advocate Health seeks a patient access/financial counseling professional to register patients, verify insurance, and collect patient responsibilities at the point of service. You will help with scheduling, onboarding, and maintaining smooth patient flow while handling confidential information with care.

The role requires one year of customer service or clerical experience, knowledge of Medicare/HIPAA/EMTALA, and proficiency with EPIC EMR and Microsoft Office.

Formación

• 1 year of customer service or clerical/office experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and updates.
• Ability to compute patient responsibility and communicate expected payments.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, math aptitude, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Greets and checks in patients; ensures information is complete and accurate; collects patient responsibility.
• Completes registration for walk-ins; verifies/upgrades demographics and insurance.
• Verifies benefits, obtains patient responsibility, communicates payment expectations.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Advocate.
• Monitors patient flow; conducts visit closure; collects additional patient responsibility.
• Schedules patient visits using scheduling system guidelines.
• Assists with new caregiver onboarding and EPIC workflow queues.
• Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and staff; communicates improvement opportunities.
