Job summary

Select Medical seeks a Patient Service Specialist at SSM Health Rehabilitation Center – McKelvey & Shackelford in Missouri. This full‑time role splits 35 hours at McKelvey and 5 hours at Shackelford, with Shackelford hours 1–6 on Wednesdays.

Compensation starts at $18/hour and increases with experience. You will greet and register patients, schedule appointments, coordinate with insurers, collect co‑pays, and verify authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: 1 year front desk experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and next appointment.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Maintain regular communication with insurance companies, translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
