Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking an Associate Patient Service Specialist to support patient flow before, during, and after appointments. You will coordinate scheduling, registration, and front-desk activities while guiding patients through the portal and ensuring accurate information in the medical record.

Working within the GI/CHN Admin Staff and IBD clinic teams, you’ll interact with patients, clinicians, and outside facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist responsibilities.
• Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages
• Manages registration and patient work queues.
• Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre-appointment orders and consults are received and viewable prior to patient visits
• Communicates with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
