Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking an Associate Patient Service Specialist to support the Orthopaedics team. You will help manage patient flow, scheduling, registration and communications to ensure smooth visits from pre- to post‑appointment steps.

Working with clinicians and staff, you’ll navigate complex scheduling across services and outside facilities, maintain patient records, and use the patient portal to keep patients informed and engaged throughout their care journey.

Qualifications

• Experience in front‑desk or clinical office settings.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities.
• Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages.
• Manages registration and patient work queues.
• Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure pre‑appointment orders and consults are ready for view.
• Communicates with patients via the patient portal and routes inquiries appropriately.
