Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Patient Service Center in Wellesley, MA. The role involves blood collection, patient interaction, and entering demographics and orders into the BILH system.

You will travel to additional PSC sites as needed and support the Phlebotomy Supervisor and PSC staff. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification preferred, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associate degree welcome.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year experience in a Patient Service Center preferred.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for patients.
• Validate/update patient demographics and orders in the system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Open/close the Patient Service Center and perform clerical duties.
• Assist Phlebotomy Supervisor with training and mentoring PSC staff.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor sites as needed.
• Participate in QA programs and ongoing education.
