Job summary

Specialty1 Partners in Fort Myers is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join our busy specialty practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients and referrals, delivering friendly support and coordinating front-office tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.

You will schedule consultations and procedures in the EMR, verify insurance details, and educate patients on coverage while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ years of scheduler experience in a dental environment or customer service preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and the dental team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency in dental software and basic computer skills.
• Understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
• Empathetic and patient-centered approach to customer service.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and referral offices via phone.
• Direct callers to the appropriate department or individual as needed.
• Assess, document, and communicate post-surgical questions and concerns to RN using clinical messaging.
• Schedule patient consultations and surgical procedures in the EMR system, following established policies and protocols.
• Accurately complete insurance verification forms and obtain necessary insurance information.
• Educate patients on in-network and out-of-network insurance policies and procedures.
• Reschedule appointments as needed due to schedule changes.
• Perform additional duties such as patient registration, EMR data entry/scanning, and chart preparation.
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations and model the Practice’s values.
