Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join the ambulatory clinic team in Kansas City, MO. You will handle front desk operations, greet patients, schedule visits, assist with MyChart activation, and support care teams throughout the patient journey.

Responsibilities include pre-visit scheduling, insurance verification, MSPQ completion, copay collection, and maintaining accurate EMR records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of customer service or health care experience preferred.
• College coursework toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule internal and external referrals and appointments (in person, telehealth, surgeries, procedures, or ancillary services).
• Register patients during scheduling, verify demographics/insurance, and process MSPQ and referrals.
• Assist with copay collection, MyChart activation, and preauthorization as needed.
• Check-in/check-out patients and support daily care team workflows.
• Maintain front desk coverage and support after-visit scheduling.
