Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Service Representative at Bell Hospital / Quivira Medical Pavilion A in Kansas City, KS. This role is key to delivering a smooth patient experience, handling front desk duties, greeting patients, registering, collecting co-pays, and assisting with MyChart and EMR appointment requests.

Responsibilities include pre-visit scheduling, checking in/out, coordinating referrals, scheduling visits, and ensuring accurate demographics/insurance

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1+ years customer service or health care experience.
• Preferred: College coursework toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Clerical, registration and/or customer service experience within a health care setting.
• Preferred Language Skills - bilingual documented proficiency if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Visit Scheduling: schedule referrals, appointments, and accuracy checks.
• During Visit Check-In: handle high-volume front desk tasks and phone coverage.
• Post-Visit Scheduling: arrange follow-up orders and appointments in the itinerary.
• Registration/insurance verification: capture demographics and MSPQ when needed.
• MyChart/EMR support: assist activation and online check-in guidance.
