Job summary

US Oncology Network's Texas Oncology location in Odessa is seeking a Scheduler to join the team. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

The position supports scheduling patient appointments and tests, serving as a liaison between patients and medical staff. The role can be entry, mid, or senior level based on experience, offering opportunities for growth within a large oncology network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years' experience preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, and/or authorization experience preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers' needs and directs to appropriate personnel and pages clinic personnel as appropriate.
• Schedules new patients, patient referrals and returning patients in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
• Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
• Obtains and enters all insurance authorization, and correspondence relating to referrals in patients charts and/or electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collects co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit.
