Job summary

US Oncology Network in Odessa, TX seeks a Scheduler to manage patient appointments and tests efficiently. This full-time position supports a collaborative team with direct supervision and adherence to compliance programs.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, and opportunities for Level 1/2/Sr based on experience, in a leading community oncology network with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years in medical office preferred.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Level 2: 3+ years in medical office.
• Level Sr: 5+ years in medical office; knowledge of medical terminology and coding.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; directs calls to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new patients, referrals, and returning patients per guidelines.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays and other payments at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates; coordinates physician meetings and satellite schedule.
• Arranges for financial counseling as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to compliance policies.
• Covers other front office tasks as requested and prepares documentation.
• Schedules outpatient appointments/tests/surgeries and pre-certifications as needed.
• Communicates test specifics and gathers necessary patient information.
• Follows up on pre-operative tests to ensure clearance.
• Schedules post-operative follow-ups with physicians.
• Understands medical terminology and coding related to scheduling.
