Job summary

The US Oncology Network, supporting Texas Oncology’s Houston clinic, seeks a Scheduler to efficiently schedule patient appointments and tests. Under direct supervision, you will be the liaison between patients and medical staff, handling calls and referrals.

This full-time role offers opportunities across 1, 2, or Sr levels based on experience, with benefits and a focus on accuracy and patient confidentiality. Houston-based, standard office hours.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls; direct to appropriate personnel and page clinic staff.
• Schedules new, referred, and returning patients per physician guidelines.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and referrals; enters data in EMR.
• Collects co-pays and other payments at visit time.
• Maintains scheduling templates for physician meetings and satellite schedule.
• Supports patients with financial counseling as needed.
