Job summary

Texas Oncology in Odessa is seeking a Scheduler to join our team. This full-time role schedules patient appointments and tests, answers calls, and acts as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

Under supervision, you will manage referrals, insurance authorizations, co-pays, and EMR entries, with a Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends or major holidays. Entry level to Sr available, depending on experience and need.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years relevant medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, and/or authorization experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and direct to the appropriate personnel.
• Schedule new and returning patients and referrals; manage appointment changes.
• Enter insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collect co-pays and other payments at visit.
• Maintain scheduling templates for physician meetings and satellite schedule.
