Job summary

US Oncology Inc. is seeking a Scheduler for our McAllen clinic. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with no weekends or holidays. Level 1/2/Sr depending on experience, reporting to the Texas Oncology team.

The Scheduler will handle patient appointment scheduling, calls, and liaison duties between patients and medical staff. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, authorizations, and pre-visit logistics to support efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years’ experience in a medical office preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, and/or authorization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new, referred, and returning patients in the system per physician guidelines.
• Obtains insurance authorization and referrals in patient charts/EMR.
• Collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates and coordinates with clinic staff.
