Job summary

The US Oncology Network, in partnership with Texas Oncology, is seeking a Scheduler for our San Antonio, TX clinic. This full-time role supports scheduling patient appointments and tests, handles calls, and serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

You will work under supervision, maintain scheduling templates, assist with pre-certifications and insurance authorizations, collect co-pays, and ensure smooth front-office operations while upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years' experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; directs to appropriate personnel and pages clinic staff as needed.
• Schedules new patients, referrals and returning patients per physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles, and other amounts at visit.
• Maintains primary scheduling template for physician meetings and satellite schedules.
• Arranges for finances counseling for patients as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to policies.
