Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative II to register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate appointments in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will pre-register procedures, assist with referrals, and handle inquiries with a focus on patient experience and accuracy.

Responsibilities include documenting insurance verification, coordinating with departments, and assisting with telephonic communications to remind patients of upcoming visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of related customer experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience scheduling or pre-registering patients; familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients during registration to create a welcoming experience and direct them as needed.
• Enter required registration and demographic information accurately into the EHR.
• Verify insurance information, obtain signatures, and answer questions on patient rights and financial assistance.
• Coordinate appointments and referrals as needed; handle pre-authorizations and payment collections as applicable.
• Answer inbound calls and route or resolve inquiries promptly; maintain high level of service.
