Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Front Desk Patient Financial Services Representative for the TOCA Orthopedics team. You will coordinate patient flow, handle registrations, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and collect patient liabilities while guiding patients through financial options.

You will post payments at the point of service and ensure compliance in all transactions. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask in a busy clinic, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in patient financial services or insurance processes is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration/check-in and data entry for patients, collect signatures and intake forms.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies and payment options.
• Enter payments/charges and reconcile daily, balance cash drawer, and prepare deposits.
• Schedule appointments and procedures, maximize reimbursement per payor rules.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with patients, care teams, and billing staff.
• Respond to requests for patient medical records following policies and laws.
• Assist in patient services such as escorting, taking vitals, and handling mail/fax information.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to accuracy and compliance.
