Banner Health is seeking a Patient Financial Services Associate to coordinate patient flow, registrations, and insurance verification in Mesa, AZ. The role provides financial guidance to patients to maximize reimbursement and supports daily revenue cycle activities.

Responsibilities include data entry, eligibility checks, payment posting, and scheduling while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences.
• Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

Responsibilities

• Registers/check-ins, data entry, intake forms, signatures, and population health summary.
• Verifies insurance eligibility benefits and documents pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculates and collects patient liability and explains financial policies and resources.
• Enters payments/charges and reconciles daily transactions; balances cash drawer and bank deposits.
• Schedules office visits and procedures, ensuring payor plan compliance and patient preparation.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients and care team; handles inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Assists with requests for patient medical records in line with policies and laws.
• Provides patient services to support flow, including escorting patients and taking vitals where applicable.
• Works independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with sound judgment.
