Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patient Financial Services Clerk to support registration, collect payments, and obtain authorizations to maximize reimbursement. You will document the registration process, verify eligibility, and provide financial counseling when appropriate.

You will liaise with physicians, clinic staff, and payors to resolve questions and maintain service excellence, while meeting monthly accuracy and collection targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of patient financial services, financial/ collecting processes or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in common office software (Word, Excel, databases).
• Arizona fingerprint clearance may be required for certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-registration/registration, verifies eligibility and obtains authorizations.
• Collects patient responsibility and communicates estimated costs.
• Provides financial counseling and assists with Medicaid/financial assistance programs.
• Acts as liaison between patient, billing, vendors, physician offices and payors.
• Communicates with staff to resolve issues and meet patient needs in financial services.
• Maintains productivity logs and adheres to policies and procedures.
