Qualifications

• Verifies coverage and co-pays; validates patient data and authorizations.
• Uses ICD/CPT knowledge to support billing and coding decisions.
• Proficient with EHR systems and MS Office for reporting.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred to assist a diverse patient base.

Responsibilities

• Follows procedures for financial screening, arrangements, and third-party demands.
• Acts as the contact between Business Office and patients for payments.
• Verifies benefit coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.
• Prepares payment plans for past due balances and monitors delinquent accounts.
• Provides customer service via phone, email, or in person to address questions.
• Obtains referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed.
• Assists training staff on insurance verification and data entry.
• Completes special reports and problem-resolution projects.
