Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers seeks a Financial Counselor to verify insurance coverage, determine out-of-pocket costs, and manage patient accounts for surgeries and outpatient services. You will communicate with multiple departments, prepare estimates, and arrange payment plans as needed.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in insurance verification, strong ICD/CPT knowledge, and proficiency with EHR systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years' experience in insurance verification of third-party health insurance.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT codes and medical terminology is preferred.
• Proficiency with PC applications including Word, Excel and Outlook; EHR experience required, eCW preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify benefit coverage, co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance; document and communicate verification data.
• Serve as liaison between Business Office, patients, staff and providers to resolve issues.
• Obtain referrals, authorizations and pre-certifications as needed; provide estimates for procedures to patients and payers.
• Assist training of clinical staff on insurance verification and data entry; support special reporting and problem resolution projects.
