Job summary

Christ Community Health Services seeks a compassionate Patient Financial Counselor to help patients access financial assistance programs and understand healthcare costs. You will verify benefits, assist with Medicaid/Marketplace enrollments, and ensure compliant financial clearance before care.

You’ll track applications, coordinate with payers, and guide patients through eligibility processes while maintaining confidentiality and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in financial counseling or related field.
• Experience in healthcare registration, billing, or collections.
• Knowledge of Medicare, TN Medicaid, Commercial, and Sliding Fee payments.
• Familiarity with insurance providers, their portals, and authorization expectations.
• CAC certification exam within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and obtain authorizations.
• Process sliding fee applications per Federal Poverty Guidelines.
• Help uninsured patients navigate Medicaid and Marketplace options.
• Review aged accounts receivable and arrange payments.
• Assist patients with CAC applications and enrollments.
• Transition self-pay patients to Medicaid or other coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
