Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Patient Financial Access Specialist - OP to manage patient demographics, insurance data, and complex scheduling across outpatient services. The role serves as a liaison between patients and physicians, ensuring accurate information and timely processing of visits.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in a hospital/physician office customer service setting with emphasis on registration, scheduling, and insurance requirements. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in a customer service environment, preferably in hospital/physician office.
• Experience with registration, scheduling, and medical insurance/eligibility requirements preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Patient Throughput: ensures all required information obtained from referring physicians and providers for reimbursement.
• Insurance: completes insurance entry accurately and understands carrier options and benefits.
• Complex Appointment Scheduling: coordinates and supports scheduling, including time-sensitive appointments.
• Resource Management/QA: provides cross-department support and coverage to maintain skills.
• Customer Service: delivers service excellence per Standards of Professional Behavior.
• Template Management - Addendum: maintains Epic templates for various locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
