Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Patient Financial Access Specialist - OP to support outpatient scheduling, patient demographics, and financial information across multiple sites. You will act as the liaison among patients, physicians, and care teams, ensuring accurate data, medical necessity alignment, and timely reimbursement through Epic-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of work experience in a customer service environment in hospital/physician office.
• Experience with registration, scheduling, and medical insurance/eligibility requirements preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train staff.

Responsibilities

• Patient Throughput: ensures all required information is provided to third party payers for reimbursement in outpatient settings.
• Insurance: completes insurance entry accurately, understanding eligibility, benefits and co-pay amounts.
• Complex Appointment Scheduling: coordinates and supports scheduling tasks, including time-sensitive appointments.
• Resource Management/QA: supports other departments and maintains skills through cross-training.
• Customer Service: delivers service excellence per Health System Standards of Professional Behavior.
• Template Management - Addendum: maintains Epic Templates for various locations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management and provides training to staff.
