Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Patient Financial Access Specialist - OP to manage patient access, scheduling, and insurance verification across outpatient services. You will coordinate appointments, coordinate complex procedures, and ensure accuracy of demographic and financial data to enable timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience, preferably in hospital/physician office.
• Experience with registration, scheduling, and medical insurance and eligibility requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient throughput: ensure information from referring physicians and providers is provided to third party payers for reimbursement.
• Accurately schedules patient follow-up physician appointments in the scheduling system.
• Process insurance entry accurately and verify patient eligibility; document accordingly.
• Maintain knowledge of Epic system to schedule complex and time-sensitive appointment types.
• Provide training and support; collaborate with supervision to improve scheduling processes and templates.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold professional standards.
• Review and update training materials; participate in system improvements.
